Brighter when it needs to be, local dimming is far superior when it needs to be with significantly less haloing. This should clear up most of the issues.Īs for picture quality, with a little tweaking, I have no issues at all. Make sure to go for Ultra High Speed HDMI Certified Cables. I thought I had a HDMI 2.1 cable before, and had these dropout issues. Some of the issues you guys are posting about e.g.

I've had this TV now since I created this thread. but for bright games or a bright room, I think QN94A wins. I imagine if I switched the lights off, closed the blinds and played Resident Evil with a C1 in a side by side comparison the C1 would win. I get a lot of light in my living room where this TV is situated, so I went for this due to the higher brightness and glare reduction. If you game in a dark room and can afford to, generally go OLED.
the dark details is true (although from feedback/reviews, the gap between this and OLED is the lowest its ever been).
You will hear a lot from the diehard OLEDs about the lack of detail in the darks who say go OLED without asking about your actual use case. I'm not sure where you're hearing game mode is awful? All reviews I found spoke well of it, and my experience has been good so far.

My main use cases is gaming and live sport (football/F1/MMA), whilst my wife watches all manner of crap plus movies. there will be failures for some people), I've found it all very good so far. I'm not sure there is a panel lottery with this one (beyond what you can expect from any manufacturing/distribution. I see that the samsung is actually slimmer than the LG oled's and also can be hung using flat left and right brackets (instead of the VESA system), which seems like a plus.Īny thoughts? Too many choices on the LG side at various price points have just confused me. I'll mount the TV on the wall, and I want it to be as flat on the wall as possible. I am worried about oled burn in, especially since buying the LG's at those prices will likely not include burn-in guarantee (costco UK). This will be an open-plan living room installation. I only watch netflix at night in the dark and very very occasionally freeviewHD at daytime. I do not play games, so I don't need any of the fancy gaming features at all.
